We have a date!

Updated: Dec 20, 2021

I am so excited about this season that I am in, and the upcoming one. It has been a crazy year, but so much growth and good has come from it. At the beginning of this year, I knew I would move back to Guatemala, but did not know when. I knew I would marry Jeremiah Fulp, but I did not know if that would be before I moved back or after. There was an amount of stability that balanced all the unknowns in my heart. By the end of this year, we are engaged, have two wedding dates, a house, and a plan for my return.

First let me introduce my fiance. He is an amazing man of God who puts everyone before himself. I mean just the other day when driving home from a trip to the city, he saw a house on fire. Without a thought he and his dad found a way into the house and immediately started putting out the fire. Then a few days later he returns to help build what was ruined in that house fire. I mean, you cannot get much better than him. He will also hate that I am bragging on him, but I am so proud of him. He is now the assistant director of the ministry-- Hope for Home. He is able to take lots of calls and basically do whatever is needed in the ministry. He has really stepped up this past year, and its been such an amazing blessing to see all God has done in him. Thankfully, I get to see all God will do in him for the rest of our lives as well.

We are so excited to start our lives together, and we have dates! We will be getting married in Alabama on January 7, 2023 and in Guatemala on January 14, 2023. Because of having family in both places, we decided to have two weddings so that the majority of our families will be able to attend the weddings. This means I will be moving to Guatemala a little after January 7! I am so excited. I have known since 2018 that I was called to live in Guatemala, but I had no idea the journey it would be to get there. As some know, I moved in 2018 to Guatemala, but moved back to the states in 2019. All of these were clearly God, but at the time there was so much confusion, but I am so thankful that God's plan is way better than mine. I moved back and eventually returned to school, but this time for Social Work which I am so passionate about and excited to take and use the knowledge I have gained to Guatemla. I will be graduating December of 2022! So many big things will be happening this time next year, and for now I am thankful for the rest that I have now.

Now, to what I will be doing in Guatemala. There is an amazing opportunity that Hope for Home ministry has been offered. I cannot share yet because there are some more things that need to fall into place, but it could be an amazing opportunity for me to be able to join the team and use my degree. Please be praying that God's plan trump all of ours and that His will be done in all of this. Another thing I plan on doing when I return is dance/art classes for the homes. As some know I have been working at Merrimack Hall which provides arts for those who have special needs. I am so excited to offer some of these same things to the children in the homes. Dance was such a huge part of my life for 16 years and was such an amazing outlet for me. It excites me to be able to offer that to these kids as well. I also plan on taking over the social media for Hope for Home. This is also something that I am excited about. Social media plays such an important role spreading the news and updates for the ministry. As some know, I have been studying photography and have a photography page, so it feels like a win to be able to use that and also be helpful to the ministry. Lastly, I want to be able to give the children of the homes one-on-one time. There are so many needs throughout the day, but I really want to offer just that special time where I can show love and full attention to each child one at a time.

More than anything I am so excited to be able to do ministry with my future husband. Being able to be in the same country and actually be present in each other's days is so exciting.

With being a missionary, I have to raise support for my life in Guatemala. The money will go towards daily living expenses and my ministry. I will be needing to get art supplies and other things when I start these things. Thankfully, Jay is moving into our home next month, so we will have our furnitute by the time I move down there, but one huge expense we will be saving for is a car for me. Jay has a motorcycle that he owns, but to be most helpful for the ministry and self sufficient I will need a vehicle. I know God has called me to Guatemala and I am so excited to see what He wants to do through me. I appreciate all of your prayers for Jeremiah and I as we are long distance and will be for the next year, raising support for our ministries, raising support so Jeremiah can have the money needed to fix up our house and buy appliances, and that we stay looking towards God in each step we take.

If you are interested in becoming a monthly supporter for Jeremiah and I please reach out to me or him. We would love to give you information on what that would look like or more details about our work.

There are many options on ways to donate as well. You can through Venmo (Kelsie-wester), PayPal (kgwester@gmail.com) or hopeforhome.org

There you will press Jeremiah Fulp (because my name has not been added yet).

We both appreciate all the support we have been given and are so excited to see what is to come!
