Updates: October-December

Halloween

We had a super fun celebration with all the kiddos dressed up in costumes. Taryn and I got super excited for the idea of spy kids and thumbs… we may have enjoyed this more than the kids did…. We made a bunch of the kids the thumb creatures.. and we were very excited about this idea.

Team

I had the awesome opportunity to join the team that came from my high school for a week. I was able to visit Casa Angelina and see Mimi, who I was especially close to. It was so much fun to visit with the kids and do work projects there. I was also able to join them for a fun day in Antigua.

Edy

Well, this little dude gave us quite the scare a few weeks ago… He stopped breathing (which is not uncommon for him) but it was the most serious that I had seen him be.

Christmas Tree Day

We had an awesome thanksgiving here in Guatemala… with a ton of people. But, the day after is when all the Christmas decorations went up and everyone dressed in green and red… It was fun and pretty outrageous, but great. Also, you will be able to see a picture of all the kids from the home by keeping up with the countdown.

Friends

I am always blessed to spend time with my old friends that I met from my many trips here.

Interns

There were four interns— two from the states, one from Canada, and one from New Zealand— this created some very fun times for one room. So, before our kiwi returned to New Zealand, and I returned to the states, we had some coffee dates and a zoo trip.

Home

I am heading to the states for my brother, Brett’s wedding. I will be there from December 11-21, so message me if you would like to get together while I am there.

Prayer Request:

We have had a lot of sickness going through the home, and it just does not seem to be going away, so prayer for healing and restoration of each person's body in the homes. I would also appreciate prayer over the direction that God is taking my life and for the funds to do these things. I appreciate everyone who has already given and blessed me with prayer over my life. A huge thing that has been on my heart lately is Zechariah 4:10-- "Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin..." I have really had to change my thinking-- things start small, but that does not mean they will remain small. God loves the process and is teaching me to have complete trust in His plan rather than mine, which can be difficult for me. Thanks once again for everyone taking time to read this and for each prayer over my life.

If you are interested in donating--http://www.hopeforhome.org/ go under donate, and then to Guatemala ministry and write "Kelsie Wester" in the box.
